Springfield Punx Readers Got Talent!

Well a number of SP members have been hard at work putting together some cool work themselves. They've shared their pieces with me and I'd like to share 'em with you. I'm sure they'd really appreciate whatever love you could show them, Punx Nation!

First up is Philip (His site here) with his own Punx style take on a number of Batman: Arkham City characters!

Next is Cess, who has combined some DC heroes from Springfield Punx into a really cool Super Friends wallpaper! Nice touch with the "phasing" Martian Manhunter Cess! Click image to embiggen!

Gareth has also chimed in with his cool Arkham City inspired pics. His site here

Here is Altair from Assassin's Creed! This bad boy is done by Joey (Joey's site here)

And Gabriel has had the great idea of drawing Marvin (the paranoid android) from Hitch Hiker's Guide To The Galaxy!

Many thanks to all you artists and friends!

Batman: Arkham City Week - Joker

Joker

Well, to conclude Arkham City week, here's the one you may have been waiting for - the Joker! I hear that this is sadly Mark Hamill's last crack at the character, which he plays SO masterfully! Arkham Asylum / Arkham City's version of the Joker just looks and sounds fantastic.

Edit - Okay, I'm also getting additional indication that this *may not* end up as Mr. Hamill's last kick at the Joker (and he has indicated that a "Batman: The Killing Joke" audiobook would be something he'd like to be a part of), but I guess we'll have to see.  At any rate, I truly consider the Joker his greatest role, even over Luke Skywalker!

Hm, I wonder - do you think he could pull off an older Joker in a live-action "The Dark Knight Returns"?

Batman: Arkham City Week - Bane

Bane
He's so huge that this page can't even contain him! :) It's kinda neat to see all the interpretations of this hulking bad boy, Bane. Christopher Nolan's take is drastically different from the one in Batman: Arkham City, but that's one of the things that makes these translations to different forms of media so fun.
Not bad for a guy from the 90's...

Batman: Arkham City Week - Batman

Batman
One of the great things about the Batman: Arkham Asylum and Arkham City games is the approach they've taken to character design - The heroes and villains showcase a "Christopher Nolan sensibility" when it comes to detail, texture, and plausibility (visually speaking that is) but they still retain a comic book theatricality and colorful flare. The best of both worlds perhaps?

DCnU Green Lantern

Green Lantern

With DC's new 52 relaunch, they didn't give Green Lantern's suit much of a change - not that it really needed it anyway.

DCnU Superman

Young Superman (from Action Comics)

Well, since I've done DC Comics' new Superman in his newest look, I thought it would be fun to get to some more New 52 DC stuff. I've been digging Grant Morrison's take on the young, fresh, Man of Steel beginning in Action Comics #1, aka the "Bruce Springsteen" Superman.

Stay tuned for more DCnU.
